Year-End Buying and Selling Season

We often talk to aircraft owners who are surprised that the 4th Quarter is typically the most active time of year for aircraft transactions. 2018 has already been a record year, and we expect year-end to be uncommonly strong.

Buyers start getting more serious…
As year-end starts to loom, potential buyers usually become more serious about making a purchase decision, with the hopes of accepting delivery of their aircraft on or before December 31. Many of the potential buyers at any given time also have their own aircraft to sell, so the markets will fill up quickly and aircraft will be bought and sold at a faster pace than other times of the year.

Time to buy or sell?

If you have a plane to buy or sell, NOW is the time to start the process and take full advantage of a stronger market. If you are thinking of selling this year, it’s important to get your aircraft onto the market quickly with a strong presentation that will attract motivated buyers and set your aircraft apart from all the others on the market.

Be Prepared for Night Flying

As Daylight Savings Time begins and more flights occur after sunset, being prepared for flying at night is crucial. Spectacular views, cooler (calmer) air, and less traffic make flying at night a delightful experience for many pilots and their passengers. In fact, many pilots prefer flying at night because the experience is so enjoyable. Whether or not you plan to do a fair amount of night flying this year, it’s a smart move to make sure you’re ready. Not every flight plays out the way you originally intended, and even minor delays due to weather or a meeting that ran long can mean a return trip that unexpectedly involves flying at dusk or beyond.
